The Office of Planning & Statistics collects monthly fuel price statistics. Monitoring changes in fuel prices is essential in measuring economic wellbeing in that the price of fuel largely determines energy prices as well as such costs as transportation and shipping.
Collection of fuel price data began in July 2003. The prices for five (5) types of fuel are collected during the same period each month from a select group of fuel retailers.
