The Division of Primary and Preventive Health consists of programs and services geared towards bringing essential and accessible health care to individuals and families in the community.   These programs try to depart from the traditional model of health care delivery where treatment is given to the patient, and once cured, that patient returns back to business as usual.   Instead the targeted interventions and preventive programs, be they medical, social, or educational, hope to empower individuals so that we become full participants in maintaining and/or attaining our well-being, by making informed decisions about our health, and ultimately, our lives.
