Purpose of Office:
The Emergency Health Program (EHP) serves as the office within the Bureau of Public Health Services charged with the responsibility to create, manage and monitor three initiatives: (1) Injured Individual, (2) Injured Nation, and (3) Bioterrorism. Funded by the CDC Bio-Terrorism Cooperative Agreement grant, EHP assesses and coordinates internal and external efforts to enhance local, state, and national readiness for bioterrorism/disaster events. In the process, the Emergency Health Program, in collaboration with the hospital and other agencies, also supports and strengthens public health's response to emergencies, crises, and disasters. |
